Mages and Thieves 3

A 5 Hour Gaming Session Of AD&D

2nd Edition (Spikehelm Campaign World)

The Back Story: (aka the idea that became the setup for this game)

Continuing from the last episode:  Mages and Thieves 2.

DM Notes:
At the end of the last episode, they had made it into a village just before dusk, so they were unable to do much more than get to the inn and settle in for the night.

Today, I was hoping that they would quickly resupply and head out again, as I had planned some cool things for them.

Alas, when you plan things that way, Players always seem to decide that the village needs to be thoroughly investigated and instead of just getting a list worth of gear, they have to break it down and shop for every little item.

They also decided that they wanted to go back and play out the night before... it figures.

Ah well, it's the life of a poor DM ;)

Additional Note:
Originally, I wasn't going to write this episode up, as it wound up being a maintence session where the Characters puttered around the village, with a single combat at the very end.

Then I thought better of it, as this happens a lot in games and it may be of value.

Mages and Thieves 2

An 11 Hour Gaming Session Of AD&D

2nd Edition (Spikehelm Campaign World)

The Back Story: (aka the idea that became the setup for this game)

Continuing from the last episode of Mages and Thieves.

DM Notes:
It's always easier to go forward from a previous game. However, when your players are in many different games, I find it's good to recap the last game. The way that I do this is to ask each player "Where did we leave off last?"

This not only helps everyone to get back into the game, but also lets me know what they remembered, which is usually a good clue to what they liked from the last game. The better you understand your players and what they are into, the better your games will be.

I also created a better map of the room that they were in, replacing the scratch-up from the last session.

Mages and Thieves

An 8 Hour Gaming Session Of AD&D

2nd Edition (Spikehelm Campaign World)

The Back Story: (aka the idea that became the setup for this game)

None.

This was an off the cuff game, set up at the last minute with about 30 minutes to do the set up, and an hour to create Maldis. The characters don't know each other and Daniel was already within another game.

Ah the fun of being a DM!

Welcome to the New Order

A 13 Hour Gaming Session Of Cyberpunk 2020

The Back Story: (aka the idea that became the setup for this game)

The day had been a long hot one; full of acid rain and toxic cloud alerts. It was a day to stay indoors, but when you had nowhere to go you tried to find shelter where you could. O'Neil had gotten soaked and his skin was itching more than normal, the rashes from the last rain were worse now that he was soaked again. He was hiding under the underpass when they came for him. He knew that it was trouble, but there was really nowhere else to go and he was so tired of running. Maybe he'd get a decent meal out of it.

The black courier van moved out into the rain, its suspension lower then when it arrived, due to the amount of bodies it now carried.

Neo-Oceanic had a bounty for people without Idents, and at 1,000 Cred per living body it was a fine business to have. But even in a place like Night City, there were people who would notice. And when they noticed… there would be trouble.

Kar didn't really care about the people he captured; adults or kids, it was all the same to him. In fact most of the time he EMPed them, stripped them of their Idents and clothes and then dumped rags and drug laced food in the back of the vans that he used. After that, he'd move them into an electrified container box for days to ripen them up into stinking, like vagrants. Then, on the drive to the drop point, he'd gas them to make them pliable for the Corps. Most days, he and his crew would be lucky enough to find a load of real vagrants, but some days they weren't so lucky and had to take Norms off the streets that might be missed. Kar and his four goons had been doing this for the last two months. They were all cyber-psychotic with the desperate need to have more and more cyber added into them.
